HD Hyundai Heavy

Company
Code of Conduct

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has established a Partner Company Code of Conduct to pursue a healthy and sustainable supply chain together with our partner companies.
We aim to collaborate with our partner companies in a joint effort to develop a sustainable supply chain where we build safe work environments, respect the human rights of employees, and practice environmental accountability and ethical management.

Scope of the
Code of Conduct

All partner companies must comply with the Code, and secondary and tertiary partner companies must also be advised to comply with and demonstrate accountability for equivalent human rights management, safety and health, environmental, and ethical standards.
Inspections and due diligence to verify partner company compliance with the Code are carried out by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries or external services designated by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries.
Written or field inspections and due diligence are conducted when necessary, and guidance and suggestions for creating a sustainable supply chain are also provided.

Key Provisions
and Disclosure

The Code consists of provisions on human rights-based management, safety and health, the environment, ethics, and business management that partner companies must adhere to.
Management practices and obligations for developing a sustainable supply chain, including the Code, can be viewed on the HD Hyundai Heavy Industries Integrated Purchasing Center website.

Conflict Minerals Policy

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries
Non-Use of Conflict Minerals Policy

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries is committed to fulfilling our responsibilities as a global enterprise that envisions a sustainable future by taking an active part in the prohibition of the use of conflict minerals.
We recognize that proceeds from mineral trading in conflict-affected and high-risk areas can fund armed groups in those regions, leading to atrocities against civilians. Such practices are also associated with human rights violations during mining and can result in significant environmental harm. In this light, we are committed to the responsible sourcing of minerals used in our products to safeguard the safety and human rights of miners and eradicate child labor and other human rights violations and environmental destruction that occur during the mining process.

Key Initiatives

HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has established a policy on the use of conflict minerals in accordance with the "OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas" and accordingly, we prohibit trading that involves conflict minerals (tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold) that are illegally mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo and the nine countries adjoining it (Sudan, Rwanda, Burundi, Uganda, Republic of Congo, Zambia, Angola, Tanzania, Central African Republic).
Partner companies are also informed on the use of conflict minerals and required to comply through the "Partner Company Code of Conduct."
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries assesses the awareness and management practices of partner companies regarding conflict minerals by conducting surveys on conflict minerals.
We continuously strengthen management capabilities for conflict minerals by implementing online ESG education, on-site diagnoses, and consulting services to raise awareness of conflict minerals. We provide an ESG guideline along with structured support to put the guideline to practice.
HD Hyundai Heavy Industries will make ongoing efforts to ensure ethical procurement of minerals that respects human rights and protects the environment by continuing to comply with the relevant regulations of international organizations and actively responding to global mineral issues.
